IMPHAL, Dec 24: The People’s Campaign for Assembly Election (PCAE-2012) will be organizing a public deliberation on “Towards Public Issue Based Election” at the Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul on December 26 at 1pm.
A press release of the organization has invited active participation from the general public at the campaign for issue based electioneering in the state.
It has further mentioned that the objective of the campaign is to lodge public issues in the election agenda and to hold the political class accountable to the electors.
Prof Bimol Akoijam from JNU, New Delhi, chairman, PCAE-2012 of the campaign will deliver the key note speech which will be followed by open house deliberations. Invitees and campaign members will share their opinion to set people’s agenda for the forthcoming Assembly Election 2012, during the deliberations, the release added.
A recommendation will also be drawn at the end for press release to mark the beginning of the 15 years long campaign. Starting from the 10th Assembly Election 2012 this campaign will span three Assembly Elections to bring about a transformative change in our socio-economic and political life, the release added.
