PWD blast victim succumbs to injuries; colleagues take out procession

IMPHAL, December 18: One of the victims of the PWD bomb blast, Seram Yaima, 41, s/o (l) Maipak of Khongman Atom Leikai, who was a casual clerk at PWD Highway division (south) succumbed to his injuries yesterday evening around 5:30pm at the Shija hospital, Langol.

Yaima was critically injured during the blast and had sustained splinter injuries on his head and face and was admitted to the RIMS hospital. He was later referred to the Shija hospital, where he succumbed yesterday evening.

His dead body was taken to the PWD complex in a procession of family members, locals and PWD employees today.

At the PWD complex, the PWD employees led by its chief engineer paid floral tributes to his dead body.

Speaking to media persons, Yaima’s wife stated that considering the family’s sorry plight, the state government should consider giving a white collar job to one of her family members.

She further appealed to all concerned to stop such acts like exploding bombs at crowded places.

Later the dead body of the bomb blast victim was taken to his local crematorium ground where his body was cremated.
