State preparing projects to be proposed for inclusion in PM package

IMPHAL, December 1: The state government has finished all sets of preparation regarding the visit of the Prime Minister and the UPA chairman along with other Union ministers to the state capital on December 3. The state government is also preparing a set of projects and schemes to be proposed before the visiting Prime Minister for inclusion in the next PM package, a reliable source informed.

Further according to the source, the state government is considering to propose the Prime Minister to include in the next PM package the maintenance of proper infrastructure in the state and announce the state as a commercial hub of the region, considering the fact that the state acts as a gate to other Southeast Asian countries.  

Further according to the source, the DoNER minister Paban Singh Ghatowar who was supposed to reach the state capital today has deferred it for tomorrow and will now touch down in the state capital along with Union minister of communication and information technology Kapil Sibal, one day ahead of the Prime Minister and the UPA chairman.

The two Union ministers will assess and monitor the preparations of the state government, the source informed.

The state government is yet to receive the official tour programme of the Prime Minister and his team, and as such the state government has also failed to announce the programme tour, the source added.
