Technical snag renders bank customers unhappy

LAMKA DEC 5: The complete break down of computer updating machine and printer at the United Bank of India ,UBI, Ccpur branch since the last part of August has left thousands of its customer in a tizzy as they could not update their account.

With Christ-mass celebration drawing nearer most of the customers are waiting with baited breathe for the machines to work again.

An individual, who identified himself as a policeman stated that he has been trying to get some amount of money as loan but is unable to get it so far as the machines are inoperable while adding that he could not even withdraw his money credited to his account.

Another middle aged man employed in a government department said if UBI banks could not make the machines workable soon there will be a dark Christ-mass and many people will not be able to draw their wages under the MGNREGS.

Meanwhile, clarifying on the accusation the sr manager said to this correspondent that there have been serious efforts on his part to mend the machineries and added that an engineer from Imphal had been summon some time back but he was unable to repair the machineries and as a result another from Kokata has also been asked to come and repair the machineries. He also added that by next week the machineries will be back on track.
