IMPHAL, December 28: Two members of the Congress party who tried to enter the Congress Bhavan along with a gun during the 126th foundation day observation have been picked up by police.
The duo has been identified as Keisham Ningthemjao, 55 s/o (late) Kulabidhu of Yairipok Laimanai and Habibur Rahman alias Mangi, 38 s/o Md Basir of Tulihal Awang Leikai.
Police recovered one 9mm Mouser pistol from the possession of the two.
According to a reliable source, the pistol belongs to one Sanabam Rajbihari of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai, Imphal.
Following the incident, strict security measures were taken up in Congress Bhavan area and the function continued with the closure of the entrance gate of the Bhavan.
