Workshop on women empowerment concludes with talk on `Gender laws`

IMPHAL, January 10: The Social Environmental Economic Development Society (SEEDS), Lamding Cherapur, Wangjing, Manipur organized the closing function of the 3-Days National Publicity Workshop on the theme of “Gender & women empowerment” today at State Guest House.

A.Nabachandra Singh, retd. director, department of Social Welfare attended the function as the chief guest, while A. Bimola Devi, ex chairperson, Manipur State Social Welfare Board as president and P. Deven Singh, rtd. deputy director, dept of Social Welfare as guest of honour.

According to a release, the workshop had started on January 8.

A delegate of 97 both male and female attended the workshop, it stated.

During the morning session of the closing function, Chitralekha Devi, district resource person, Link Worker  Scheme, Senapati, spoke on the topic “HIV/AIDS a gift by her beloved husband, exclusive talk with reference to NE India.” While S. Shyamachoron, advocate, and gen. secretary,  All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) spoke on the topic “ Gender Laws Under the Provisions of the Constitution”, the statement added.
