CDSU call offs CCpur bandh following arrest of suspects in Ngaisuanching case

LAMKA, February 14 : Following the development that police have succeeded in arresting  three prime suspects over the killing of one Ngaisuanching, 35, d/o Paukhoneng of Maukot on the fateful intervening night of February 5 and 6 and considering the hardship, the public is likely to face from the propose total bandh of CCpur district from the midnight of February  14 to 15 midnight, Churachandpur District Students` Union , CDSU, has called off the proposed total bandh, Lalkhohau president of the Union told IFP today.

He further said that based on progress made by the police regarding the investigation of the case, CDSU will decide as to what course of action should be initiated and as such for the time being the earlier decision will remain cancelled.

It may be pointed out that three people were  arrested the day before yesterday by the police on the ground of suspicion.

The three arrested by the police have been identified as Ginsanglian, ex-husband of the victim, 58, s/o Singzalam presently residing at Lhangnem village , Nengbiaksang , 30, s/o Kamkhogen of Pearsonmun village and Chonglam , 44, d/o Lalzakai of D Phailian.

According to police sources, the three have been taken to Imphal for further interrogation. Yesterday they were produced before the CJM and were put under judicial remand till February 20, according to another source.
