CEO office shows green signal to re-polls

IMPHAL, Feb 28: Following  pressures mounted on the ECI  by the non-Congress delegates presently camped at New Delhi, positive signs of conducting repolls have been noticed today at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer at Old Secretariat.

Beginning this afternoon, a joint meeting attended by all the deputy commissioners of the five hill districts inclusive of the SDOs , ADC members of Kangpokpi and returning officers was held under the chair of state CEO, PC Lawmkunga at the said premises. Credible sources stated that the meeting was held in preparation for the upcoming repoll which would be conducted in polling stations of the hill areas where vast irregularities were witnessed during the photographic comparisons. The source further maintained that announcement of repoll from the ECI authorities is ecpected within the next few days. The meeting conducted today sent credible complaints via e mail to the ECI and the hardcopy of the complaints will be reached to the ECI tomorrow by special messenger.
