Nagas pledge to take forward reconciliation process

DIMAPUR, Feb 29 (NNN): Over fifty thousand Nagas today sang `We shall overcome` waving Naga flags at Agri Expo ground in Dimapur today. They cheered and roared in approval when NSCN-IM general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah,”We Nagas have not come to this world to worship Nehru-Gandhi family.” “We have our history and we the Naga people can best decide our own future. This is our sovereign right,” asserted Th.Muivah.

Under the aegis of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), Nagas from Nagaland, Manipur, Myanmar, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam conglomerated at Agri Expo ground in Dimapur today and witnessed various Naga underground leaders pledging to take Naga reconciliation process to a new height.

Leaders of NNC (Non-Accordist), GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi-Khole group), NSCN-IM, FGN participated in the event. A.Z Phizo`s daughter Adino Phizo sent her message from London which was read out today.

Delivering a speech Th Muivah said for everything there is a season. “And for the Nagas too there is a season. He asserted that the government of India should respect the history of Nagas and “we Nagas will reciprocate it.”

Naga Hoho president Kevilietuo asked the Naga underground organisations to `minimize the tax collecting.`  The Naga Hoho leader then said reconciliation not only among the Nagas but with “our oppresors will come but subject to settlement.

United Naga Council president Adani appeals every concerned Naga to strengthen the reconciliation process. Naga scholar Nikettu Iralucalled for the healing of process and to `keep it clean`. “No room for self righteousness. We need each other,” advocated Iralu.
