IMPHAL, Feb 26: Two persons died and around ten others were injured when a passenger vehicle collided with a car at a place near Maibam Lokpa Ching under Nambol police station around noon.
The deceased has been identified as the driver of the Maruti car, Khundongbam Devan,40, son of Ibo of Ngaikhong Khullen and a passenger of a Tata Magic, Moirangthem Raju, 40, son of Kullachandra of Thamnapokpi.
According to sources, the car (MN-03P0012) was traveling towards Ngaikhong Khullen from Imphal while the Tata Magic (MN04A2825) which was on the Imphal-Moirang service was moving toward Imphal. Devan was traveling along with his wife K ongbi Bobby Devi, one of the injurd, and has been shifted to RIMS.
The car was mangled severely while the left side of the Tata Magic, on which Raju was one of the occupants, took maximum impact on the other vehicle.
The total number of persons hurt in the accident could not be exactly ascertained.
