IMPHAL, April 21: A newly wedded woman was this early morning found dead floating on a local pond at Konthoujam Awang leikai under Patsoi at around 3am.
The women identified as Konthoujam ongbi Premila 33 wife of K Dineshwor of Konthoujam Awang leikai was wedded just two months back.
The husband informed media persons at the RIMS morgue that, Premila had been on medication since some time after she had complained of sleeping disorder just about 20 days after their marriage.
He further said that, she had gone out of their house to attend to nature’s call last night at around 11pm, however she failed to return to bed for a long time.
Afraid something might had happened to her, he woke up his family and started looking for her, he said and added later at around 3pm they found her body floating in a residential pond just two house away from their house.
Meanwhile, family members of the deceased Premila have rejected the husband’s story and said they suspect foul play in the death of Premila.
