PLA man sent to Gauhati Jail

IMPHAL, April 17: Kh Arnold, a self-styled captain of the proscribed PLA was today sent to Gauhati Central Jail.

Kh Arnold alias Bekkon, 25 from Gauhati Manipur Basti, was arrested by a team of NIA sleuths on April 2 last from Siliguri and the NIA had been under the custody of the investigating agency since then.

The NIA had also seized a laptop computer with some incriminating data from his possession. Some photographs showing handsacks between Arnold and chief of army of Maoist rebel were also found on the computer, according to NIA sources.

The recent Jharkhand attack of the Maoists which killed dozens of CRPF personnel was carried out not long after the Maoist fighters involved in the attack received arm training from Wangba alias Dilip, Raghu, Chaoren, a team of trainers led by Arnold, the sources further added.

However, PLA had claimed that Arnold was a deserter.
