Dead body recovered

IMPHAL, May 26: A team of the state Fire Service today fished out the dead body of a truck handyman from the Sangaiprou Pukhri Achouba this morning around 11am.

The handyman identified as one Kalu Koirala, 20 son of (L) Bari of Khatkhatti, Assam was taking a dip at the pond and he never resurfaced.

Worried with the event, others who were also taking their baths at the pond informed the state fire service who arrived along with its lifebuoys and conducted a search of the missing body.

The team fished out the body soon.

Kalu has been identified as the handyman of a truck (bearing regd no NL 01 G 9912) involved in supplying commodities to the FCI godown.

The body was later handed over to the vehicle after post mortem at the RIMS mortuary.
