`Government not serious`

    IMPHAL, May 8: The Kanglei Chanura Chaokhat Lamjing Lup (Kangleichal) on Tuesday accused the state government of not seriously pursuing the cases of gangrape of Zangthailiu Kamei and rape cum murder case of Keisham Premila.

    Kangleichal said in a statement that the culprits involved in the two cases should be awarded capital punishments and for this the government and the investigating agency should try their level best to expedite their trials.

    It is evident that the government and the concerned authorities have been protecting the accused as they are taking a long time to begin the trial process, Kangleichal alleged.

    It also appealed the concerned authorities to work sincerely in the interest of the public so as to avoid further agitations on the issues.
