Karnataka boycott intensifies

IMPHAL, May 28: Activists of the six state student bodies today tore down banners and hoardings of different Karnataka based institutes put up in the state capital. The hoardings and banners were later consigned to flames by the student activists.

The hoardings were taken down from Nityaipat Chuthek, Southern Gate of DM College, Old Lambulane Jail Road.

Speaking to media persons, general secretary Arambam Thoithoi appealed to the transporters and suppliers of the state not to import goods produced in Karnataka into the state.

He further expressed that the failure on the part of the truckers to fall in line with its appeal could lead to unwanted incidents. He further deliberated that the student bodies would not spare the transporters, if they continue to import Karnataka produced goods into the state.

He also urged the Singh art publication not to paste any hoardings of Karnataka based institutes in the state. The student bodies will put a ban on the publication house if they continue to do so.
