Mass rally against racial profiling

IMPHAL, May 6: A mass rally cum public meeting was held today in connection with the increasing crime against humanity in the state and also particularly the racial discrimination on the people of northeastern states in other states of India.

The rally started from Yurembam and ended with a public meeting at Patsoi part-III community hall. 

A memorandum was also submitted to Sonia Gandhi, president, Indian National Congress, Dr Manmohan Singh, prime minister of India, P Chidambaram, home minister of India, Gurbachan Jagat, governor of Manipur and Okram Ibobi Singh, chief minister of Manipur.

Condemning the raising organized trend of racial profiling and crime against the people of Manipur in particular and the people of Northeast India in general, the memorandum which was signed by the representatives of the joint committee of civil society organizations, including COWF, SSG, VWCOC,ABTEC,CNPW and DVSF was submitted to the above leaders.
