MLA Yamthong inspects Saikul constituency

IMPHAL, May 5: Saikul constituency MLA Yamthong Haokip on Saturday inspected the present condition of roads, including FCS godown and Block godown in the constituency.

During the inspection tour, MLA Yamthong Haokip told the media that he would urge the concerned authorities for innovation of the FCS and Block godowns and the 43 Assam Rifles staying at the FCS godown, Saikul would be shifted somewhere and that the state Chief Minister and home minister would also be urged in this regard.

He further added, his visit aimed at the development of Saikul as the people in this area have faced various problems due to lack of proper roads and bridges.

The transit route in the Tusam area was developed by the locals on their own accord and that the government did not extend any help to the villagers, the MLA said, adding that the suspension bridge which is the only commutable route between Saikul and Tusam would be repaired soon after consulting the concerned authority.

Yamthong also appealed to all the government employees to maintain regular attendance at their respective offices and further said that those who are found irregular in their duties would be suspended.

During the inspection visit, MLA Yamthong was accompanied by Principal Secretary, Tribal Development, officials of FCS and Council members.
