IMPHAL, May 9: A state BJP team will apprise the party’s national president Nitin Gadkari on the Richard murder case and related issues at Guwahati on May 11, said state unit president of the party Sh Shantikumar Sharma this afternoon at the party’s Nitaipat Chuthek office.

He was briefing media persons on the line of action to be taken up and which had already taken up by the state BJP unit on the Richard case.

The team will be led by the state president and will include other members of the party. The team after meeting with the national president at Guwahati will leave further for Bangalore to take stock of the case.

They will urge the national president to inform the BJP government at Karnataka to expedite the investigation, he further informed.

He also said that the team will also urged the national president to get first-hand information of the investigation from the Karnataka CM and hold a press conference announcing the status of the investigation.

Elaborating further he said that, soon after receiving news about the death of Loitam Richard, the state unit had intimated the party’s NE India Sampark Cell Sunil Deodhar who on his part personally met with both Karnataka’s CM and Home Minister and enquired about the incident.

The issue was brought up in the Lok Sabha by a BJP MP from Assam Ramen Deka and followed by national party leaders including Arun Jaitley.

Meanwhile, a team of the Manipur Yuva Morcha of the party will be taking part at a national level meeting of the youth front of the party and submit an ultimatum to the centre on the issue afterwards, he added.

The ultimatum will set a seven days deadline for the centre to bring a solution to the issue, he informed.
