IMPHAL, May 10: A woman and her infant daughter were hurt during a violent thunderstorm at Pangaltabi Awang Leikai, Thoubal this evening around 4:30pm.
The two are presently undergoing treatment at the RIMS, both are however stated to be out of danger.
According to sources, the woman identified as N Bilashini is the Principal of Borai English School, Pangaltabi Awang Leikai.
She was staying along with her family at the school building itself, when heavy rains followed by violent winds hit the school building.
The thunderstorm which continued for more than 20 minutes also destructed around 10 houses of the locality.
The mother and daughter were first taken to the local Kakching Primary Health Centre, from where they were referred to the RIMS.
