IMPHAL, June 8: Two separate road mishaps at Kakching sub-division this morning in quick succession have claimed two lives and left scores injured.
The first accident occurred at Sugnu foothills this early morning at 7:15am when a bus bearing regd no MN 01-1314 skidded off the road, killing the handyman at the spot and injuring 26 others; including 12 female and 14 male passengers.
All injured have been admitted at nearby hospitals and in Imphal.
Meanwhile, an elderly man was killed when a Tata Magic passenger vehicle bearing regd no MN 04-7388 collided with a Maruti Zen bearing regd no ML 05 G 7846 near Deepa cinema Hall, Kaching.
The elderly who was a passenger of the Maruti Zen has been identified as Naorem Iboton, 80 of Kakching Leikai.
He succumbed to injuries at RIMS.
