IMPHAL, June 1: Concerned higher authorities have started taking the official statements of all personnel of the 6th MR post at Jessami IB, Ukhrul in connection with the May 23 case of a missing AK 47 rifle from the MR post arms cot.
The step has been taken following a stern direction from the state DGP, K Baral, a source informed.
It has further informed that the five personnel of the post including two havildars and three riflemen who were taken to the Ukhrul PS have been shifted back to the Jessami PS in this connection. The five were supposed to be shifted to the Interrogation cell located inside the Imphal West police station.
The statements have been recorded by an official team including SDPO Jessami, AC 6th MR, RI Ukhrul, OC Jessami, and two SIs under the supervision of the SP Ukhrul, the source added.
