IMPHAL, June 24: “Amanba Yum’, a book of poetry was released by  Director of Arts and Culture department K Sobita at Panthou Laipung,Wangkhei Hijam Leirak today.

The book is written by the director of state Planning Department Thangjam Munindro. The release function was attended by K Sobita as the chief guest.  Joint director of Education (S), Th Iboyaima and president of Ima Leishem Inat Loishang, Ch Chanuchenbi Leima were the guest of honor and president of the function respectively.

The Chief Guest in her speech mentioned that the poems bring out the philosophy propagated by ‘Panthou’ and gives a message of morality and the complexities of life. She said that the title signifies that our ancestors should be revered as from the “Amanba Yum”, we all have our origins.

Th Iboyaima while reading out a few poems mentioned that the poet also highlights on the present environmental hazards and polluting of the environment. He appreciated the writer for his holistic address in his writings.

Director Munindro in his speech stated that he found solace after becoming a disciple of Panthou. He mentioned that from the daily office work, he relaxes by coming to worship at Panthou Laipung and further finds inspiration for writing his poetry.
