Manipur Chief Minister announces Rs 5 lakhs award

IMPHAL June 14: Zenith Academy, Sangaiporou Imphal today organised a felicitation function at the premises of its school campus to honour the meritorious students of the school including Mohammad Ismat who topped the CBSE Class 12 exam for the year 2012.

According to a press release Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh was the chief guest of the function while state Education Minister M Okendro and MLA RK Anand were the president and guest of honour, respectively. .

While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister announced a cash incentive of Rs 5 lakh for Md Ismat and Rs 10 lakh for the infrastructure development of the school from Education Department, the statement said.

 

He also announced to give Rs 50000 to Md Ismat for his outstanding performance and another 50000 to the school management from his discretionary fund for producing a student who topped the All India Examination, it said.

The Chief Minister congratulated the All India Topper and the meritorious students of the school for their spectacular results and lauded the efforts of the school management board and the staffs in guiding the students towards academic excellence, it added.

Further according to the press statement teacher`s proper guidance, parents` dedication and students` hard work together would enable the students to outshine in every sphere of life, he added.

Stating that Power has become a part of one`s life, the Chief Minister informed that the government is doing its best to reform the present power supply system and sought the public`s cooperation to fulfil it, it said.

Earlier, the chief guest, president and guest of honour distributed School Awards to teachers and Award/Citation to the meritorious students of the school.

Certificates/Citations from Ministry of Human resource Development, Government of India were also distributed to 131 students of the school on the occasion.

Manipur Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshore Singh, ministers, MLAs, parents and guardians of the students, eminent educationists and prominent citizens of the area were also present on the occasion, it added.
