IMPHAL, June 13: The KCP-MC Lanheiba Meitei has denied that there are no plans of signing a Suspension of Operations (SoO) with the government as of today although a peace process is in the offing.

The IFP had published in today’s edition that the group is preparing for a SoO with the central government.

Reacting sharply to the IFP report a person claiming to represent the outfit said, “It is totally wrong to say that the group is signing a pact with the government. We have met representatives of the government and if at all there is any arrangement they could most probably sign a ceasefire which is also yet to be resolved.”

The leader of the group Lanheiba  Meitei is presently lodged in the Manipur Central Jail at Sajiwa, after his arrest in Bishnu Rabha Path of Basistha in Guwahati on June 28, 2011.
