IMPHAL, June 11: MBBS entrance exam 2012 topper Longjam Panba Meitei son of Manichandra of Keishamthong Longjam Leirak was today felicitated by the Medical and Engineering Coaching Institute at the institute building at Keishampat today.
The felicitation programme was attended by managing director Bedakishore Thokchom.
5010 students took the exam which was conducted by the Manipur Health Department yesterday.
Panba scored a total of 368 out of a total of 400 marks in the exam which lasted one and half hours.
Speaking to IFP at his residence, Panba said he finished his class X from Don Bosco Langing and his XII from Herbert in 2010.
He had scored 76 percent in his Class XII exam.
He gave credit for his success to his uncle, family members and the teaching staff of MECI. He said he had been attending coaching at the institute since 2008.
He made his first attempt in 2010 and had failed twice before topping this year’s entrance exam.
