IMPHAL, June 29: The controversy over the result of the Manipur MBBS/BDS entrance examination, 2012 intensified today with the All Manipur Students’ Guardians’ Organization coming out strong against it even as the directorate released its clarification on the issue.
The Medical Directorate has in the meantime called a press conference tomorrow to clarify on the issue.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur Students’ Guradians’ Organization called a press conference decrying the inept handling of the exam result by the Directorate.
Speaking to media persons this evening at the organization’s Palace Compound office, advisor N Tomba said that the fact that selection lists of the exam were released thrice smacks of controversy.
He demanded that in case the directorate wants to continue with the counselling programme of the selected students which is slated to start from July 7, the authorities should only consider the list of June 11 and leave out those of June 22 and 23.
The organization has further warned of filling a PIL and taking other legal actions against the directorate incase of its failure to do so.
Charging that the first Selection list had been distorted with before subsequently releasing the second and third lists on June 22 and 23, he demanded from the Medical Directorate whether the directorate will be releasing anymore selection lists.
Elaborating further on the issue, he said the directorate had issued a notification on June 11 before the announcement of the first selection list, that any students who had any doubt over the released list can rechecked their papers, however it added that no re-evaluation would be allowed.
The rechecking was supposed to be conducted on June 25, however before that, the directorate issued two new selection lists which are in clear violation of its own June 11 notification, he continued.
Meanwhile, the medical directorate said the result of the Manipur MBBS/BDS Entrance Examination was declared on June 11 and revised result was announced on June 23 after duly corrected the wrong key answer in Question no 10 of ‘A’ series, Q No 20 of ‘B’, Q No 5 of ‘C’ and Q No 25 of ‘D’ series.
