IMPHAL, June 29: Militant outfit Maoist Communist Party, Manipur, MCP Friday said that next to Hijam Irawat, the pioneer of communist movement in the state is (L) Yendrembam Ibohanbi, popularly known as ‘Baji Ibohanbi’ was the true leader of the movement.
In a statement issued by its comrade Nonglen Meitei, secretary, publicity and propaganda, MCP appealed the people to pay floral tributes to the memorial sites of (L) Ibohanbi, the leader of communist movement in the state on his death anniversary on July 1.
Saying that it is endless to praise the greatness of this leader, MCP maintained that the communist movement in Manipur suffered utterly after the death of Ibohanbi. He was the real follower of Irawat who practiced the real communist norms.
Even though the world has forgotten this leader who took major parts, particularly in the military offensive, MCP will never forget him, the outfit said.
MCP said it honours all the people who had died and suffered in the communist movement and the outfit will always respect them for their bravery and sacrificial spirit.
