Loitam Richard`s room sealed by CID

IMPHAL, June 18: The Karnataka state CID crime branch has sealed the hostel room where Loitam Richard was found dead and another room where an alleged fight between Richard and two other hostellers occurred just two days before he was found dead inside his room.

Following the June 5 handing over of the case to the CID by the Karnataka government, the CID Crime Branch had sealed the two rooms of the hostel as part of its investigation.

The hostel is located at Thammennahally, North Taluk, Bangalore.

The hostel rooms are Room no 225, where Richard was found dead and Room no 111 where a fight had occurred between him and two other students.

In a telephonic conversation with the IFP, Karnataka DGP L Pachou said that the two main suspects Vishal and Syed Afzal Ali of the case have been currently remanded to their custody.

He told IPF that the two main suspects getting bail depends upon the plea of the family members of the duo.

He however added that the case is progressing at the hands of the CID Crime Branch.

It may be mentioned that on June 5, the Karnataka government had transferred the case registered by the Madanayakanahalli police station with Case no 229/12 u/s 323, 302 r/w 34 IPC to the Karnataka CID crime branch, despite demands for handing it over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from student bodies based here in Imphal.
