State cabinet okays panchayat delimitation

IMPHAL, June 19: The state government had recently approved that the four gram sabhas of Toribari, Kalapahar, Shantalbari Parasain and Koubruleikha to be excluded from the 4th Panchayat Election, 2012.

According to a reliable source, the government had recently approved the exclusion of the Kanglatombi Gram Panchayat from Kanglatombi Zila Parishad and its inclusion in the Kurkhul Zila Parishad.

The government had also approved that the six villages of Nungkhangching, Mahao Tera, Aihang, New Chayang, Leingangching and Kamuching of Saikul Sub Division under Imphal East Zilla Parishad to be excluded from the 4th Panchayat Election, the source informed.

Meanwhile, the government has also accepted a magisterial inquiry report regarding the alleged extra-judicial killing of one Angom Brajamani Singh son of A Bira Singh of Phayeng Makha Leikai during an alleged encounter at Khuyathong some years back, the source added.

Reliable sources have also informed that the approved nine residential schools, one each for all districts will be based on the norms of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, KGBV as approved by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, government of India.

The government had also approved the recruitment of nine contractual wardens, 36 full time teachers, 27 pat time teachers, nine full time accountants, nine office assistants, nine head cooks, 18 assistant cooks, nine peon cum chowkidars as contractual staffs as per the KGBV norms, a source added.

The state government has approved the re-designation of two posts of lecturers in Sociology to lectures in Manipuri and two posts of lecturers in Home Science to Bengali in respect of the Borobekra Higher Secondary school, Jiribam informed a source.

It may be mentioned that the state had approved the upgradation of Borobekra High School to Higher Secondary School in Jiribam sub-division of Imphal East.

Following the upgradation approval of the government, public representatives had proposed courses in Manipuri and Bengali languages instead of Home Science and Sociology in the school.
