Students feted in Moreh

MOREH, June 9: With the arrival of ADC Moreh, Lunminthang Haokip’s 54th birthday, a felicitation ceremony of successful students of HSLC exam 2012 was held at the former’s residence with a grand feast today.

The felicitation programme was jointly organized by Lunminthang Haokip, ADC Moreh and KSO, Moreh Block.

Onjamang Haokip, ex-minister and Chinheiwa Haokip graced the function as chief guest and president.

Lunminthang Haokip said he would support the students as much as he can and added that the Indian government is now taking up various development programmes to make the Moreh town a more beautiful commercial centre.

He also said students residing in the town need to get good education or other educated people from other parts of the state will take away all the privileges.

“One of my persistent efforts is to find out all the requirements pertaining to education in the town,” said the Moreh ADc and the chairman of Moreh government Higher Secondary School and Moreh College.

At the event, leaders of Kuki Women Union and Human Rights, chairmen of Hill Tribal Council units, pastors of different churches, parents of students and students of six different schools were also attended.
