Tamenglong ADC anniversary held

IMPHAL, June 26: The 2nd Anniversary observation of the 4th Tamenglong Autonomous District Council Installation day was observed today at Hotel Imphal Conference Hall under the theme – Voice of the People is the Voice of God. The function was attended by Home, Tribal Affairs & Hills, Horticulture & Soil Conservation Minister Gaikhangam as chief guest; MLA Tamei Z Kikhonbou Newmai, MLA Tamenglong A/C Janghemlung Panmei and MPCC Member/Ex MLA Khanthuanang Panmei as Guests of Honour. Home Minister Gaikhangam said that today is a gracious day for Tamenglong District. He further added that after more than 20 years of non-functioning of the ADC, the centre was pressurised after demands from the locals to promote leaders at the grass root level. He said the Congress led Secular Progressive Front II with the leadership of O Ibobi has moved forward with determination even during the rainy season to activate ADC pass many hurdles in the form of threats, kidnappings, bans, strikes etc. He added that it was like a cyclone but the will of people outshined at the end and hence it is functioning from the last 2 years. He added that the ADC election was not a smooth election but still it came out colourful, many elements tried to stop and create hindrance the election but somehow it was faced. He said now is time to celebrate as people’s voice been listened and God has blessed from heaven and he further congratulated all the ADC members of Tamenglong and said that we are the representative of people, the development of Tamenglong is the development of Manipur. He concluded by saying that the funds for the development must be properly implemented.
