World Music Day: Handshake Concert at Bangkok a “most memorable and ever enjoyed”: Azo , Nagaland Minister for Health and Family

KOHIMA, June 26: Nagaland Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu described the recently held “Handshake Concert” on June 21 at the Thai capital, Bangkok, as “most memorable and ever enjoyed” in his lifetime.

The Minister was a “Guest of Honor” in this high profile “Handshake Concert” at Bangkok. The event was the fifth edition of the event and it was jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of Thailand and the Rattle and Hum Society of Nagaland. And it was also organized as part of the World Music Day celebrations on June 21.

Narrating about his experience of attending this historic “Handshake Concert” at the Kingdom’s capital, Bangkok, the visibly delighted Minister said it was one of the most memorable and ever enjoyed ones in his “lifetime.” He said such event would strengthen the “friendship and brotherhood” between the people of the Kingdom and Nagaland.

Nienu said they were extremely proud to have gone beyond the “borders and boundaries” to share the “Naga culture and music” with the people of the Kingdom (Thailand) while also experiencing and enjoying the “rich Thai culture and music and more.”

The Minister also expressed belief that such “event” would open doors for more future alliances between the people of Nagaland and the Kingdom.

It may be mentioned that the Thai cultural teams used to take part in Nagaland’s Hornbill festivals and also remarkably in the Road Show held at Phek, the home of the Minister.

While thanking the Royal Thai Government, particularly, Tharadol Thongruang for making the historic “Handshake Concert” a reality at Bangkok, the Minister expressed the hope that more such “events” to come in near future with much supports from the Governments and the people.

Dr Nicky Kire, MLA, Adviser, Music Task Force, Gug Chishi, Director, Music Task Force, Theja Meru, President, Rattle and Hum Music Society of Nagaland, Abu Metha, Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, Nagaland, were among others in the Music Team from Nagaland to the historic “Handshake Concert” at Bangkok.
