9 demands of Rs. 1704 crores passed

IMPHAL, July 10: Altogether nine demands of Rs. 1704,72,18,000 were passed by the state assembly today.

The demands were Demand No. 7-Police of Rs. 843,58,95,000; Demand No. 10-Education of Rs. 742,45,96,000; Demand No. 3- Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution of Rs. 17,23,25,000; Demand No. 24-Vigilance of Rs. 2,46,12,000; Demand No. 31-Fire Protection and Control of Rs. 7,80,36,000; Demand No. 32-Jails of Rs. 11,91,65,000; Demand No. 33-Home Guards of Rs. 10,66,89,000; Demand No. 39-Sericluture of Rs. 40,39,57,000 and Demand No. 41-Arts and Culture Department of Rs. 28,19,43,000.

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi who also holds the finance portfolio presented the demands in the House today while opposition MLAs Dr I Ibohalbi, Th Shyamkumar, L Ibomcha, P Brojen and Kh Joykishan raised cut motions to the demads.

Later, all nine demands were passed by the House unanimously after the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi made his clarifications to the cut motions raised by the opposition MLAs.
