Autos damaged during bandh

IMPHAL, July 22: The second day of the 60 hours bandh imposed by the JAC against the disappearance of Irungbam Irabanta have seen much intense action in many market areas of the state today, even though it could not affect much on the first day yesterday.

The bandh has seriously affected normal life in Lamlai Bazar, Yaingnagpokpi Bazar, Seijang Bazar, Nongadam Bazar and Nongdam Bazar.

At Seijing Bazar two autorickshaws were damaged by the bandh supporters. The SDPO of Lamlai who rushes to the spot met the bandh supporters and asked them to pay the damages cause by them to the two damaged autorickshaws.

The bandh supporters responded the SDPO that they have given a prior announcement of the bandh and so no one is responsible for it and also it is done by a mob of people. No individual can be accounted for the damage.

Meanwhile, in connection with the case MK Winner’s wife and one NSCN cadre’s wife were pick-up by Ukhrul Police and their statement were taken. It was reported earlier by the family members of Irabanta that on May 28 Inrabanta went along with one MK Winner, 33, son of Ramsing of Ukhrul to meet an NSCN cadre.
