IMPHAL, July 30: An individual with a past of mental problem stabbed a man to death with a pair of scissors at Waikhong Khunjao Leikai under Waikhong PS this morning at 11am.
The mentally imbalanced person has been identified as Huidrom Raghu, 35 son of Sagaijao of Waikhong Khunjao while his victim has been identified as Thomas alias Katholo Monsing, 38 of Monsang Pantha Chandel district at present staying at the Liwa Sarei Khullen.
The incident happened when Thomas a friend had come visiting and was sitting at Raghu’s verandah when Raghu came out with a pair of scissors and suddenly stabbed him on his left chest and abdomen.
Thomas tried to run towards the gate and fell down midway.
Meanwhile Raghu also attacked his father who tried to intervene and injured him on his wrist with the same scissors.
H Raghu is said to be a mental patient and had a past of being arrested by the police for misbehaving with his neighbour.
Thomas’ dead body has been deposited at the JNIMS morgue by the police, while Raghu has been taken into custody by the Waikhong police.
