IMPHAL, July 22: The European Manipuri Association, EMA, London is planning to meet all the Olympians from the North East India on July 26 at London, a day before the inauguration of the 2012 Olympics on July 27.
A statement of the association said, “It is indeed a proud moment for all of us especially for the North East India diaspora here in UK. We believe that irrespective of the result, 10 Olympians representing NorthEast India itself is a great achievement for us”.
“In order to encourage the 10 Olympians, EMA is planning to handover greeting cards with wishes & encouraging words from the well-wishers in UK”.
“An online Facebook Campaign has also been started for collecting best wishes from well-wishers around the Globe, EMA aim to print the wishes and present to the Olympians on July 26”, it said.
