High Court quashes revised MBBS/BDS select lists

IMPHAL, July 21: Following a writ petition filed by six candidates, a single bench of Justice T NK Singh of Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench has today quashed the revised select lists of MBBS/BDS Entrance Examination, 2012 issued by the Directorate of Health Services, Manipur on June 22 and 23.

The Justice further directed the officials of Health Services to issue a new revised list within seven days after awarding four marks to all candidates for discrepancy arising from the wrong key answers of Physics Paper.

The petition was filed by six candidates, namely Rajkumari Geeta, Urikhimbam Sumaparity, Malemkhombi Lourakpam, Tongbam Johnson, Arungovin Huirem and Irungbam Famous Singh. Senior advocate Hemchandra appeared on behalf of the petitioners while senior government advocate Th Ibohal and senior additional government advocate RS Reisang appeared for the respondents, namely Principal Secretary of Health & Family Welfare, Director of Manipur Health Services and M/s Exxom Automation Private Limited.

It may be mentioned in the MBBS/BDS Entrance Examination, 2012 that the key answer for Physics questions No. 10, 20, 5 and 25 of Series Code A, B, C and D respectively were mentioned as “B” but the correct key answer should be “C”. As a result of that mistake, there were two revisions of the list of selected candidates issued by the Directorate of Health Services on June 22 and 23.
