IMPHAL, July 22: IYA, Kakching became the champions of the 5th Kishorekumar Memorial 1st Division League Football tournament, 2012 by winning all its five matches and garnering 15 points.
The new champions defeated AVO, Kakching by 4-0 in today’s second ground match at the DSA, Kakching ground.
AVO with 12 points will remain at the second spot of the league.
Dhanakumar, Telent, Medjun and Anil scored one each for the champions.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, YSA, Langmeidong drew with UCC, Kakching with a 2-2 scoreline.
YSA is at one point while UCC is at two points with one match each remaining for both teams.
Birjun and Kala scored one each for YSA, while Dayanand and Dinesh scored one each for UCC.
The other teams of the league tournament are FSC, Kakching at 7 points and SESU at 1 point.
The closing day of the league will be held on July 24.
Meanwhile, NGL, Lourembam and LMFA, Heirok defeated their rivals in the ongoing Thoubal District 1st Division Football League tournament, 2012 at the KRC playground organized by DFA Thoubal.
In the first ground match today, NGL defeated WYC, Wangkhem by 3-0.
Boynao, Sanatomba and Ashang scored one each for the winners.
In the second ground match, LMFA defeated YDA, Tentha by 6-1.
Oken scored two while, Kh Binoy, Krishnananda, Ashajit and Sada scored one each for the winning team.
M Ingo of YDA scored the only goal for the losing team.
