SENAPATI, July 20: Putting up a joint effort of the District elected members to develop the District H/Q, 47Karong A/C Hon’ble MLA Dr V Alexander Pao along with team of Engineers from Imphal and public leaders conducted a route alignment inspection for creation of new ‘Ring Road’ around the DHQ yesterday.
The MLA was accompanied by District PMGSY Executive Engineer KhNaba Kumar, AE RK Sekharjit and two other officials toured from 9 MR (zero point) till Upper Kathikho village point to create the western ring road.
Later, the MLA entourage visited the NLCPR drinking water augmentation project at TNK Senapati Village and expressed his unhappiness over the poor maintenance of the facilities and non-availability of water in the area despite of such mega project implemented. The ring road towards eastern part was detailed and inspected near Angkailongdi Village and TNK Senapati Village which also connects the Senapati Phaibung road. The proposed ring road will connect more than 30 villages, many schools, and the upcoming Polytechnic Institute and 50 bedded District Hospital.
Earlier the District elected members including the two MLAs, RD&PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa and District bodies on July 16 has agreed upon to develop a ring road under the PMGSY funds and develop the connectivity of the DHQ with neighbouring villages at the earliest.
