Oil stations opened up after agreement with minister

IMPHAL, July 12: The oil stations in the valley districts of the state, which have remained closed following monetary demand and threats from some underground groups, have been opened up immediately after an agreement was reached between the owners and CAF & PD minister this evening.

The opened up oil stations in Imphal area were M/S Kusum Service Stations, Nongmeibung anf M/S Phulchand Trilokchand Trading Co (PCTC), Khoyathong. All other oil stations in the state will be opened up normally from tomorrow.   

The oil stations remained closed following arson at Ibochou Service Station and Imo Filling and to protest against huge monetary demand made by some underground groups.

In the meeting, the owners requested the CAF & PD minister Okendro not to deploy VDF personnel in guarding the oil stations.

Vehicles were lined up in long queues till late night trying to fetch petrol and diesel from Kusum Service Station and PCTC.
