IMPHAL, July 30: Acting on credible information, commandos of Imphal West District on Saturday at around 11 am arrested one active member of PREPAK from Majorkhul Gate namely, WaikhomPremkumar alias Kumar Singh, 51, son of (L) W Thoiba Singh of Singjamei Bheigyapati Leikai, stated a police release.  

IMPHAL, July 18: A combined team of CDO Thoubal and 27 AR on Tuesday conducted search operation at Wabagai area and arrested one s/s sgt of PLA namely Anoubam Manoranjan Sharma alias Rix, 29, son of A Dobadash Sharma of Wabagai Bamon Leirak at about 1:30 pm and recovered one 9 mm pistol with two live rounds.

On questioning, the individual revealed that he got basic military training in Myanmar and he was allotted army number 2541, said a police release. 

IMPHAL, July 1: A  combined team of CDO Imphal East and 18th Sikh Regiment conducted a search operation in and around Khurai Lamlong near Babu Hotel area in Imphal East and arrested one PREPAK cadre namely, Kiran Magar alias Ruhal, 20, son of (L) Loke Magar of Serou Part III at around 7:00 pm yesterday, said a police release.

According to the release, One 9 mm pistol marked as 80 HARTFOR with three live rounds were recovered from his possession.

On verification, he disclosed that he joined PREPAK organization in the year 2001 through one Shamu Sharma from Serou and his army number is 192 of 18 batch of 2001 of PREPAK. He was trained at Sajik Tampak under Sgt Geeta and Cpl Chalamba and he was given the rank of lance corporal in the year 2008, it said.

Further, he disclosed that he was involved in extortion of money from general public, private firms and government institutions and he was also involved in transportation of arms and ammunition from place to place, it further said.
