IMPHAL, July 10: Five student bodies in support of FRIENDS and various other organizations demanding to pass a bill at the ongoing monsoon assembly session for the implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the state, took out rallies starting from various schools in Imphal towards Manipur Legislative Assembly today.
The police were able to control the mob without causing any injury or damages and the rallies were stop at various points.
The rally which started from Ibotonsana Girls Higher Secondary, Uripok was stop at Nagamapal by a team of Imphal West police and the rally which started from Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School was stop at Keishampat and they were sent back to their respective school by a team of Imphal west police led by Addl SP of Law and Order.
Meanwhile, in Imphal East district, students of Lamlong Higher Secondary School took out rally towards the Manipur Legislative Assembly passing Dingko Road were stop at ISBT by a team of police led by Addl SP Herojit.
