IMPHAL, July 6: Student bodies will jointly launch various forms of democratic agitation in the state starting from tomorrow in support of the people’s movement to implement Inner Line Permit System in the state.
This was stated by the M Angamba, president of DESAM, during a press conference held today at office of Students Welfare Association Manipur (SWAK), Kwakeithel Haorakchanbi. The press conference was called by the joint student bodies.
Angamba said that it’s been quite some time that different organizations in the state have been de manding to pass a bill for the implementation of ILP in the state at the ongoing assembly session. But still the government has not taken any initiative to implement the act.
He further said that the student bodies will launch various forms of democratic agitation starting for tomorrow in support to the ‘Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit in Manipur’ formed to pursue ILP demand.
