IMPHAL, July 4 (NNN): The militant outfit Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has on Wednesday reiterated that it does not work against the Nagas` struggle for sovereignty in any way nor it opposes any struggle by any indigenous people for self-determination pledging that the outfit will extend support to such struggles.
ZUF joint secretary, A Remroi said even as the struggle of Naga is underway the Zeliangrong people are gradually losing their territory and further asserted that despite 60 years of struggle as well as the 15 years of peace process, the Naga people’s aspiration has not been fulfilled till date.
ZUF maintained that ZUF was formed to protect Zeliangrong people and their resources and it is not an anti-Naga organization alleging that the NSCN-IM is an organization that is practicing anti-Naga policy.
NSCN-IM is still giving training to other non-Naga people like the Dimasas who have killed many innocent Zeliangrong people and grabbed parts of our territory in NC Hills, Remroi accused.
However, NSCN-IM is getting in the way when we try to make an all out effort to defend the Zeliangrong territory, the ZUF leader said, adding that it expects cooperation from all the Zeliangrong people in its efforts.
The ZUF leader also alleged that the recent Haochong incident in which three cadres of NSCN-K were killed was the plot of the NSCN-IM. The allegation of NSCN-IM that the incident was occurred due to a factional clash or drunken brawl was nothing but a sham, Remroi added.
