Admn irregularities

IMPHAL, Aug 2: Students’ Welfare Association of Kangleipak (SWAK) in a survey of the colleges in Thoubal found irregularities in the admission process in Lilong Haoreibi College.

The organization secretary of SWAK BC Junus Atikur was briefing mediapersons at a press meet at SWAK office, Kwakeithel Haorak Chambi.

He said that the college does not have an admission committee while the principal of the college and the staff charged an additional Rs 200 more in the admission fee and also a late fine of Rs 200.

Junus Atikur said that the college prospectus did not include the fees structure of the college and further lamented that the college functions under his whims.

He said that the new semester system is already a burden for the poor students, as in this system a student have to fill up form for 6 times and 3 times for admission.

He said that the conduct of college authority is regretted and the additional charge should be returned to the students at the earliest.

He added that other colleges have already started their session and this college is still in the admission process. The representative of SWAK said that the principal was absent when they visited the college for clarification about the admission fee.
