IMPHAL, August 14: Ward No.9, Moreh of Chandel district, Troops of 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) apprehended one PREPAK (PRO) cadre in a operation launched in Ward No. 9, Moreh, Chandel district on 13 August, 2012. The apprehendee was identified as Kshetrimayum Robi Singh alias Pakhanglakpa, 45, son of Kshetrimayum Tombi Singh of Kakching, Thoubal dist. One .32 Pistol with magazines and two live round were recovered from the apprehendee who alongwith recoveries was handed over to Imphal West police station.
In another incident, troops of 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) launched operation in Top Dusssera and Yaranmam Nomaiching Makhom on August 13, 2012 resulting in recovery of five Chinese hand grenades, seven No.36 M hand grenades and three RPG bombs. The recovered items were handed over to Porompot Police station for further destruction, a release said.
