Chief Minister of Manipur collapses 2 times

Manipur, IMPHAL, August 16: The 65th Independence Day celebration was observed at 1st Manipur Rifles parade ground Wednesday morning.

The function was attended by the Chief Minister along with top officials of various government departments. The Tricolor flag was hoisted by the Chief Minister and after inspection of the guard  he gave salute to thirty contingents.

The Chief Minister mentioned the various achievements of the SPF ministry inclusive of completing mega projects. However, just after delivering a few lines of his speech, the CM swooned and was caught by his personal security guards from dropping to the floor.

He was given medical attention by his personal medic and later recovered. He was not able to complete his address but managed to distribute 20 gallantry awards to police officers. He again collapsed in the midst of distributing awards.

After the second collapse he was rushed to his official residence where he was given medical attention by his personal physicians. The Chief Minister later recovered and attended the afternoon function at the Raj Bhavan.

The Independence Day function was also observed in the rest of the districts.
