IMPHAL, Aug 21: “The Medical Officers and Dental Surgeons (December-2011 Batch), MHS (Manipur Health Service) Grade-IV have been facing immense difficulties and financial hardships due to non-receipt of monthly salaries and allowances since the initial appointment”, said a release of the Association of Dental Surgeons and Medical Officers.

This is more so in the case of Medical Officers (M.Os.) and Dental Surgeons (D.Ss.) concerned who are posted in the Hill Districts & other distant places, the release continued.

It further said that the monthly salaries & allowances are not received due to, perhaps, non-finalisation of the CPIS (Computerisation of Personal Information System) (formerly Manipur Government Employees List-MGEL), or for any other reasons etc.

The release said that the MOs and DSs have held several meetings in this connection.

A meeting was also held today at the meeting hall of the Cultural & Development Society (CDS), Uripok, to discuss the problems and difficulties now being experienced.

It said that during the meetings it was decided that written representations will be submitted to the Chief Minister, Health & FW Minister, Commissioner (Health & FW), Director (Health) and request for kindly passing necessary orders and instructions for release and payment of salaries in view of the extreme financial hardships now being faced by the MOs and DSs.

It was also unanimously resolved that an association will be formed and named as “Association of Dental Surgeons and Medical Officers for the welfare of the Medical Officers and Dental Surgeons.
