IMPHAL, August 30: The 81st death anniversary of Haipou Jadonnang Malangmei was also observed at Gaidimjaig village, Khoupum in Nungba on August 29 organized by the Haipou Jadonnang Malangmei Memorial Committee.
As part of the observation a volleyball tournament of the village was also held.
Namkaolong village chairman, Janglungpou Pamei, Khoupum village chief, Gaibirei Longmei attended the observation as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
The villagers observed a two minute silence and offered floral tributes to the late freedom fighter.
