UKHRUL, August 7: The academic career of around 400 students of the Ukhrul Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan School, (KVS) faces a bleak future due to the failure of the administrative system of the school in the absence of its principal coupled with insufficient teaching staff.

The Parents Support Group, PSG held a press conference at the Multi-purpose hall of the Tangkhul Leih Sak Long yesterday regarding the issue.

The parents group expressed a deep concern, worry and dissatisfaction over the complete failure of the Ukhrul KVS administrative set-up.

The parents also lamented that the Ukhrul KVS building which is temporarily attached with the Tangkhul Naga Long, TNL Office is on the verge of extinction because of the complete failure of the administrative set-up following the absence of the school`s Principal paralyzing the normal academic routine and curricular activities leaving almost 400 students in chaos and putting their parents` in worry.

The PSG was formed on September, 2011. The PSG in fact, had contributed by constructing two class rooms with the help of volunteers, for the up-gradation of Classes IX-X, toilets et al. motivating full support of the institution in Ukhrul, but their sentiments are hurt now, said Dr. Lucy who further wondered how an institution runs without its Principal?

Secretary of the PSG, RA Canaan informed that a three-point charter of demands was submitted to Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul, who is the Chairman of KVS over the grievances of the lack of regular Principal, to augment regular classes and infrastructures focusing on the school’s own building which is running almost 5 years in a temporary arrangement at TNL office since its inception in the year September, 2007.

So far the institution is getting worse and worse and no positive progress ever made so far, the PSG said.

The PSG also said that the new building construction of KVS at Ukhrul Mei Zailung has been halted without even completing the fencing project presumably due to the holding of Central fund flow.

As a matter of fact the CPWD Central authority has suspended all bills as there is a claim that there is no utilization of Ukhrul KVS share reached at the authority, according to reliable source.

The press conference was convened by the PSG led by its co-convener, Wonthing A Shimray and executive members including RM Viola, Awin Zingkhai.
